Welcome to endangeredspecies.neocities.org. This website was created by Samantha Sukosol, and was made to raise awareness for endangered species around the world.

I'm sure most of you have heard about endangered species, but what many of you may not know is how severe of a problem it's becoming. Some of the world's most famous animals are slowly becoming closer and closer to extinction. The definition of endangered species is a species of plant or animal that is has a high chance of becoming extinct, or no longer existing. Sadly, because of our industrialization and growth of population, we've had a need for more supplies. Eventually we started taking more than we needed, and ecosystems began dying. This also meant the animals in those ecosystems were getting less and less food and less and less places to live. This lead to the endangerment and extinction of animals. According to the World Wildlife Fund, there are seven different levels of endangerment; Lowest Concern, Near Threatened, Vulnerable, Endangered, Critically Endangered, Extinct in the Wild, and Extinct. Even commonly known animals such as Polar Bears, Bottlenose Dolphins, and Chimpanzees are making it on the vulnerable and endangered categories. We can't just sit idly by and watch these important species die off. We have to make a change, and we have to do it now. If we don't, centuries from now we may be the only species left on Earth. After all, we ourselves at the end of the day are just a species too.
